A community member in Depew was in immediate need of a handicap ramp for their home. Jason Tinsley, SecondChance LandCattle and the Depew Volunteer Fire Department came through building a ramp. A wheelchair was provided by Shelly Hilbert.
Bristow VFW Post 3656 now has a Service Officer available to all Veterans who need assistance in filing a claim with Veterans Affairs (VA) or if you just have questions on what benefits are available to you. The Bristow VFW is dedicated to serving those that have served as well as those that support the service member.
The Bristow OHCE met on March 10, Ray Kinslow opened the meeting by presenting “I Refuse to Worry” as the devotional. This was followed by Vice-President Carolyn Kuykendall leading the club in U.S. pledge and the OHCE Creed. Noting the loss and passing of Jane Chapman. Household Tip/Resource, it was decided members would share their household tips/thoughts. The Bristow OHCE will be determining how to honor Ms. Chapman.
Bristow Into Action Bristow Into Action Alcoholics Anyomous meeting is temporarily being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. at 708 West 11th Street, Bristow.
Throughout February, Bristow came together through individual efforts of community service, building a better community one act of service at a time. Individuals from a multitude of backgrounds and entities served our community and the surrounding area.
Abby Bell, a member of the Bristow FFA chapter, is a candidate for state FFA office. Running for the office of state FFA reporter, Bell faces the opportunity of serving more than 25,000 Oklahoma FFA members.
On Feb. 24, 2021, Leola Roebuck celebrated her 101st birthday. She celebrated her century plus one year milestone surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her special day was celebrated with cake and ice cream, gifts, cards, and many well-wishes from family and friends. Leola’s life, experiences and precious memories are her many family treasures for years to come.
