Gear up for an active April: celebrate National Move More Month

Shape Your Future encourages Oklahomans to stay physically active to improve overall health. April is National Move More Month, and Shape Your Future, a program of the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET), encourages Oklahomans to spring into play and physical activity to become healthier.

In tribute to all of the servicemen and women who selflessly served and sacrificed while remaining publicly unacknowledged, Bristow VFW Post 3656 Auxiliary members complete community service. Service projects vary but all honor veterans, military families, and the communities in which they reside. Local Auxiliary President Letha Caudle makes it a point to award local members for their community service contributions in acknowledgement of their efforts.

Jessica McCullough Shared Support Jessica McCullough is the Child Nutrition Manager at the high school and middle school. She has been employed with the Bristow Public School District for 10 years and worked in the Edison cafeteria for three years before transitioning to the high school.

Bristow High School senior Autumn Manus has completed a week of service as a page for Senator James Leewright R-Bristow. Manus served during the ninth week of session from March 29- April 1.

Townhall Meeting at Bristow VFW Post 3656

The Bristow VFW Post 3656 will be hosting a Townhall meeting on the 26th of March 2021, starting at 7 p.m. This will showcase all of the candidates for the Creek County Commissioner District 3 seat. This is a great opportunity for the citizens of Creek county to meet and ask questions of the candidates in a townhall forum. This is not a debate, but more of a chance to get to know the candidates and to see what their vision is for Creek County. The Republican candidates for District 3 are Danny Gann, Jarrod Whitehouse, Mike Wofford, Bryan Sherwood, and Justin Spears and the Democrat candidate is Chris Root. Everyone is invited to attend this event and get to know where your candidate stands on issues that are important to you and the citizens of Creek County. If you are unable to be in attendance in person you can submit questions to the candidates through the VFW Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Bri stowVFW/, or you can submit a question by texting to (918) 856-8395. When submitting a question via Facebook or text message please include your name or the question will not be addressed. To maintain a sense of safety due to COVID we will be requiring a mask to be worn during the event and your temperature will be taken at the door, social distancing will be enforced.
