Pirates beat Cache, 28 - 21

The Bristow Purple Pirates won their game against Cache 28-21 on Friday. This game was played as a replacement game as both Skiatook and Catoosa had to cancel due to COVID-19. Cache got the ball rolling with a touchdown to start the game. Then, the Pirates answered back with a rushing touchdown by Stephon Tolon. Cache soon retook the lead with another touchdown. In the second quarter, Cache Henson scored a rushing touchdown. Then, Tolon intercepted Cache as the Pirates’ first interception of the night.

Depew Hornets stomp the Foyil Panthers

On Oct 30, 2020, the Depew Hornets played the Foyil Panthers winning the game 52 to 6. The Hornets blew through the competition with no score on the board from the Panthers until the third quarter where they received their one and only touchdown of the game. Austin Cunningham had two touchdowns, 90 rushing yards, and two conversions. Jesse Slape had one touchdown, 183 yards passing, and 32 yards rushing. Tavin Hunt had one touchdown, two conversions, one interception, and nine rushing yards. Tyler Burdick had 44 rushing yards, one touchdown, and one conversion. All of the Hornets did exceptionally well and are ready to play the Prue Rockets on Friday, Nov. 6. This will also be-Depew Football Senior night, which is the last game before playoff games begin.

Pirate Cross County team makes Regionals

Bristow Cross Country had its regionals on Saturday in Chisholm. In the high school girls’ 3200m run, Rori Kelly finished with a time of 13:13.18. In the high school boys’ 5000m run, Johnathan Montgomery finished with a time of 20:59.83, Jackson Moore with a time of 21:02.83, Daniel Flanagan with a time of 23:17.85, Tyler Holt with a time of 23:38.22, and Garrett Lundberg with a time of 23:41.60. Kelly qualified for state, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, in Edmond.

Bristow Youth Basketball sign-ups beginning

The Bristow Youth Basketball sign ups will begin this week. Sign ups will begin Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 5-7 p.m. at the middle school gym. Sign ups will continue Thursday, Oct. 29, 5-7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 2, 5-7 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 6, 5-7 p.m. all sign ups will be held at the middle school gym. The last day to sign up is Friday, Nov. 6. If you are unable to make any of these dates, contact the listed number and make arrangements to meet.

Lady Pirates make All-District

Several members of the Lady Pirates Fast pitch softball team and their coach made All-District for 2020. The girls earned the priveledge of becoming Regional Champions and the right to go to State plus the team was presented the Distinguished Academic Award by being the top 10 percent in Class A academically.

Pirates take Cleveland 37-19

The Bristow Purple Pirates beat Cleveland 37-19 on Thursday. The first score of the game came from Pirates’ quarterback Stephon Tolon. Then, Cleveland retaliated by scoring a touchdown of their own. In the second quarter, Stephon Tolon scored his second rushing touchdown of the game. The two-point conversion was good. Then, Tolon intercepted Cleveland and scored a rushing touchdown on the next drive. The two-point conversion was good. Afterward, Sutton Titsworth intercepted Cleveland, but Cleveland intercepted Tolon back. The half ended with the Pirates up 22-7.
