Graveside funeral rites for Bristow resident Charles Mooney were held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022 at the Bristow City Cemetery. Military funeral honors were provided by the United States Navy. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home, of Bristow.

Graveside funeral rites for Bristow resident Erma Gail Brown were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the Magnolia Memorial Gardens at Bristow. Mr. Tim Lester of the North Sheridan Church of Christ, in Tulsa, officiated. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Bristow. Online condolences may be expressed at www.MichaelsFuneralServices.c om. Gail was born in Anadarko, on Dec. 7, 1946, to the late William Egbert Weaver and LolaMae (Fink) Weaver. She passed from this life in Tulsa on Feb. 27, 2022, at the age of 75 years, two months and 20 days. Gail had moved from Tulsa to Bristow around 1966. She had worked as an over the road truck driver for many years and had volunteered at the Bristow Library, due to the fact her mother was the librarian. She graduated cosmetology school and kept her license current all these years. Gailen joyed crafting, riding motorcycles, being on Facebook, and loved spending time with her grandkids. In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by a son: David Michael Few.

Gerald “Jerry” Lee McDaniel

Gerald “Jerry” Lee McDaniel was born Jan. 1, 1947, to Clarence and Elouise (Whitehead) Mc- Daniel, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He departed this life Feb. 27, 2022, at the age of 75 years, one month and 27 days.

Teddy Richard Smith Jr.

Teddy Richard Smith Jr. was born on Nov. 13, 1954, in Norman, to biological parents, Teddy Richard Smith Sr. and Lily “Lil” Bryant. He departed this life Feb. 26, 2022, at the age of 67. Ted grew up in various navy bases across the U.S. but spent the majority of his childhood and adult life in Flour Bluff, Texas with his mother, Lil, father, J.C. Bryant, and his sisters Myrna and Ricki. Ted was extremely active in many activities including boy scouts of America, swim team, football, marching band, and Ted was even a bull and bronc rider in the rodeo for many years.

Virgil Cleonne Russell

Virgil graduated from Big Spring High School in Big Spring, Texas in 1950. He attended Howard County Junior College where he was an outstanding athlete in basketball and track, holding several records. In 1950, he was drafted by the Navy and served until 1953. He played a big role in helping bring the original soccer program to Bristow. He retired from CE Natco as a lab technician. After retirement he worked for Bristow Public Schools as a school bus driver for many years. He also drove for Cimarron Public Transportation after retirement.
