Local country artist-disc jockey, Billy Parker, has long career in country music

How many local artists have made it big in the music industry? Billy Parker did. Born in Tuskegge, Parker is an American country music disc jockey and singer. Parker has been a friend to country music ever since he picked up his first guitar that his mother bought him when he was 11 year old. At age 14, he and his family moved to McAlester and he started playing guitar on the radio after school.

In the Progress Tab last week, it was stated that Elliot Smith started Bristow Tire in 1987. In fact, Elliot’s father, Jack Smith,was the person who purchased the building in 1987 from JC Hutson and started Bristow Tire. Elliot took over when his father retired.

New CEO elected by Oklahoma Restaurant Association

The Oklahoma Restaurant Association (ORA) prepares to welcome Senator James Leewright of Bristow, as their newly elected President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The newly elected CEO was unanimously approved by the ORA Board of Directors at its March 29th Board of Directors Meeting in Tulsa.

On Friday, the Lighthorse Police made a pull over of a Cadillac SUV, in the parking lot of a business on Main Street. After searching the vehicle, stolen items were recovered from the vehicle. Cash Donation

Body
A cash donation was made by the Creek County Farm Bureau, Women's Leadership Team and a donation of matching monies from the Oklahoma Farm Bureau for food purchases. Through grants the social services has increased their space to include food storage, computer lab, classroom space or meeting lab, a very modern kitchen and three office spaces according to Social Service Executive Director Toni Godwin.
