Board of County Commissioners meet Monday in regular meeting

The Board of County Commissioners met in chambers Monday morning, discussing agenda items including the possible approval of the installation of a new security camera system for the Creek County Juvenile Justice Center, in Bristow. They approved signing the deed and transcript for property located in Shamrock which was sold on April 25.

The board members also discussed renaming the county bridge with the local identification number 178 located on Veterans Memorial Road, in Bristow as Sammy Dean “Tampy” Varner Bridge and issuing a proclamation to that effect.

The board also discussed and considered using the ACCO deductible fund to pay for damages to a sheriff's vehicle due to striking a deer back in April of this year. The amount is $14,906.35. Utility permits from Oklahoma Natural Gas were considered and a presentation from the City of Drumright for sewer and water project using APRA funds and finally, discussion and possible action regarding the American Rescue Plan 2021 funds directed to Creek County by the federal government with action considering possible use of the funds for road and bridge projects and the board dicussed transferring of Care Start Rapid COVID Test kits to the Creek County Jail.
