Perry Lott was sentenced to 300 years in prison for the November 1987 rape and robbery of an Ada woman. Lott maintained his innocence throughout his trial and three decades of incarceration. With the assistance of The Innocence Project, he was released from prison in July 2018.

The Board of County Commissioners met in chambers Monday morning, discussing agenda items including the possible approval of the installation of a new security camera system for the Creek County Juvenile Justice Center, in Bristow. They approved signing the deed and transcript for property located in Shamrock which was sold on April 25.

In the Progress Tab last week, it was stated that Elliot Smith started Bristow Tire in 1987. In fact, Elliot’s father, Jack Smith,was the person who purchased the building in 1987 from JC Hutson and started Bristow Tire. Elliot took over when his father retired.
