Ingredients 2 tablespoons canola oil 3 small sweet red peppers, finely chopped 3 small sweet red peppers, finely chopped 1 large onion, finely chopped 2 small celery ribs, finely chopped 1 ½ teaspoons dried thyme ¾ teaspoon garlic salt ¾ teaspoon paprika ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper 3 pork tenderloins (¾ pound each) 4 teaspoons lemon-pepper seasoning 4 teaspoons fennel seed, crushed Directions 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Ingredients 2 boneless, skinless turkey breasts Kosher salt Freshly ground black pepper 4 tablespoons butter 1 cup panko breadcrumbs ¼ cup thyme leaves 3 tablespoons sage 2 cups parsley leaves 6 cloves garlic ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes ¼ cup vegetable oil Directions 1. Butterfly breasts crosswise, being sure not to cut all the way through.

When I think of Hallowe’en, several images enter my mind: trick or treating in costume, scary stories, and spirits of the deceased. “All Hallows’ Eve,” known as Hallowe’en brings to mind my loved ones who are now deceased and this is the topic which most intrigues me. There could certainly be a scary element in these thoughts. For example, I often dream of family members who are deceased. My grandmother was one of them.

Rep. Kyle Hilbert receives Higher Education Distinguished Service Award

Oklahoma Rep. Kyle Hilbert was recognized today with the Distinguished Service Award for Higher Education. He was honored for his support of higher education in his role as Vice Chair of the Appropriations and Budget Committee and the Joint Committee on Appropriations and Budget; as a member of the Joint Committee on Pandemic Relief Funding and co-chair of the Joint Committee on Pandemic Relief Funding - Health and Human Services Working Group; as a member of the Alcohol, Tobacco and Controlled Substances, Banking, Financial Services and Pensions, and Common Education Committees; and as a member of the Legislative Office of Fiscal Transparency, Special Conference Committee on Common Education, and State and Federal Redistricting North Central Oklahoma Subcommittee.“The State Regents, the college and university presidents, and I are honored to present Rep. Hilbert with this Distinguished Service Award,” said Chancellor Glen D. Johnson. “In his legislative leadership roles, Rep. Hilbert has been a strong voice for our state system of higher education budget requests, specifically related to workforce development, concurrent enrollment, scholarships, and the Endowed Chairs program.” The Distinguished Service Awards for Higher Education recognize individuals who demonstrate distinguished leadership and support of higher education in Oklahoma during the legislative session. It is the highest award presented by the State Regents and the Council of College and University Presidents. “I am honored to receive the Distinguished Service Award from the State Regents,” said Hilbert. “This year, the state of Oklahoma fulfilled a promise that was made to donors that if they donated to the Endowed Chairs Program, the state would do the same. This investment is critical in helping address the workforce needs of our state.”
