Bristow City Council holds first council meeting of November

The City of Bristow, along with area businesses, held its Halloween Spook-tacular, Saturday evening. The event was a huge success with spooks of all kinds, young and old. The attendance was fantastic and the city looks forward to the event even being bigger next year.

On Monday evening the city council met in the council chambers to discuss agenda items ranging from zoning requests to abatements.

The council discussed recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Board on a request to rezone property from R-1 to R-3 for mulity-family housing. A public hearing was held to receive input on ordiances of the City of Bristow.

The board then moved on to discuss and take possible action to identify property on Highway 48 and Cloud Street, owned by the city, as a dog park.

An abatement is in discussion on property located at 618 East 5th, owned by Fran Aguilera, for dilapidated buildings.

The board approved adopting a resolution determining the costs of $968.01 for the city cleaning up property located in the 700 block of East 4th Street, owned byPreston, Stanley, David and Timir Fates and Richard D and William Henshaw and costs of $833.65 for property located at 1405 S. Cedar, owned by Regina Booth.

On the municipal authority side of the meeting the board approved claims ranging from paid and un-paid to payroll and esitmated payroll claims. Consideration and discussion was made on a quote submitted for renovations on the restrooms at city hall.

The board went into executive session for confidential communications with legal counsel regarding the pending litigation in the case of Bristow Endeavor Healthcare vs the Bristow Hospital Authority, Case No: CV-2021-142, including discussion of potential settlement and resolution of the litigation.

The council discussed possible approval of a resolution approving ground lease by and between The Bristow Hospital Authority and Carrus Lakeside Hospital regarding the lease of property located at 700 West 7th Street, for construction of the new hospital. A resolution approving a sub-lease with Carrus Lakeside and the Bristow Hospital Authority for the current hospital, for operation and maintenance of the existing hospital, including compensation, capital improvements and other related matter.

It was also discussed to provide notice to Bristow Endeavor Healthcare of the intent to terminate the lease agreement for Suite 102 of the Bristow Medical Centers medical office building located at 700 West 7th Street and terminated the lease agreement for the Bristow Medical Center Medical Building located at 122 West 4th Street.
