Halloween Klicks on Route 66 makes a stop in Bristow

Bristow will soon welcome a different kind of foot traffic as walkers make their way along historic Route 66.

The American Volkssport Association has confirmed that Halloween Klicks on Route 66 will include a stop in Bristow on Sunday, November 1, 2026, starting at the Bristow Train Depot.

The event is part of a multiday walking celebration taking place October 28 through November 2, with activities scheduled across Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri.

Organized by the Sunflower Sod Stompers and other regional walking clubs, the event brings together walking enthusiasts to explore communities along America’s famous Mother Road.

This year’s celebration holds special significance as Route 66 marks its 100th anniversary and the American Volkssport Association celebrates 50 years.

Along with Bristow, participating communities include Tulsa, Claremore, Miami, Chandler, Joplin, and several other historic Route 66 destinations.

The Bristow walk is listed on the association’s official event calendar, with the Wandergruppe Walking Club identified as its organizer.

Events like Halloween Klicks offer participants an opportunity to enjoy outdoor recreation while exploring the history and character of the towns that helped make Route 66 an American landmark.

For Bristow, the event brings another opportunity to be part of the nationwide celebration of the highway’s centennial.
