“The boastful will not stand before Your eyes; You hate all who do injustice” (Psalm 5:5).
If this one Bible verse were isolated from all others, what might you think about God?
God declares His mercy, forgiveness, and grace in His Word, showing that He loves all people in the world.
Jesus “ascended into heaven (and He had) descended from heaven… And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes will have eternal life” ( John 3:13-15). Jesus refers here to an account in Numbers 21:6-9 in which the snake-bitten person had to look, not just think about it, indicating that believing includes obedience!
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life…so that the world might be saved through Him. The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
“And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, so that his deeds will not be exposed. But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God” ( John 3:16-21).
The Lord wants all people to be saved and to know His truth. He created you for revealing Him in your life. God sent Jesus to save you!
God’s love for you is declared in your own Bible – please read Romans 5:5-10. God wants you to be saved, not hated! This is also clearly seen in the following words from God.
“‘As I live!’ declares the Lord God, ‘I take no pleasure at all in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then should you die?’”(Ezekie 33:11).
“We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him”(1 John 4:16).
Jesus died for your sins, and He arose on your behalf to give you hope for eternity in heaven!
