Bristow Social Services is calling on the community to lend a helping hand during its upcoming Fill the Bag Food Drive; an effort aimed at stocking the organization’s food pantry and helping feed local families in need.
The food drive will be held Saturday, October 3 rd , from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at four participating locations across Bristow: Walmart, Williams Foods, Dollar Tree, and Dollar General.
Throughout the day, shoppers will have the opportunity to purchase food items and fill a bag to donate to Bristow Social Services. The collected items will go towards filling the local food pantry, allowing the organization to continue helping individuals and families within the community.
The Fill the Bag Food Drive is an opportunity for Bristow residents to work together to make sure their neighbors have food on their table. A few extra items added to a shopping bag may not seem like much, but when donations from throughout the community are brought together, those contributions can quickly add up.
For those who may not be able to donate food but would still like to get involved, Bristow Social Services is also seeking volunteers to help at participating stores. Even an hour or two of someone’s time can help make the event a success.
