Blake Stafford, senior at Depew High School won the state weightlifting meet, taking the class B state championship title, his younger brother Luke Stafford a sophomore at Depew High School places third.

The Depew Lady Hornet Slowpitch Varsity took the lead in the fourth inning in the game against olive on March 10. The Lady Hornets were behind 9-8 late in the fourth inning when Ashley Burdick singled on a first pitch, at bat, scoring two runs. Henaise Roberts drove in five runs, going 3 for 5 at the plate. The Lady Hornets got six runs in the fourth inning with Katie Vick singling on a 1-2 count scoring a run, Kenna Combs doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring a run and Kady Rodman singled on a 1-0 count, also scoring one run. As pitchers, Vick allowed six runs on 14 hits, striking two out and Saige Dowty, pitching in the first part of the game, allowed five runs on two hits.
As in the game earlier in the week, the Lady Hornets took the lead in the fourth quarter of the game, putting up seven runs, beating Prue, 12 – 2. The big inning in the game was due to an error on a ball put into play by Kady Rodman and Henasie Roberts, doubles by Sydney Thompson and Riley Raines and single by Ashlyn Smith.
