Arcadia: May 8. Elevation 2 ft. above normal, water 70 and stained. Black crappie and white crappie excellent on jigs, minnows and PowerBait around brush structure, docks, points, riprap, shallows and standing timber. Blue catfish and channel catfish fair on chicken liver, cut bait, dough bait, punch bait and worms along channels, flats and points. Largemouth bass good on bill baits, flukes, in-line spinnerbaits, jigs, lipless baits, small lures and spinnerbaits around brush structure, riprap, shallows and standing timber.

Pirates finish season 26 wins and 6 losses

The Bristow Purple Pirates baseball team ended their 2022 season on Sunday, May 8, when they lost in the final game of Regionals. On Friday, the Pirates played Oolagah in the first game, losing 6-3. Saturday was the second game of Regionals with the Pirates playing Broken Bow, winning that game 17-11. The next game was against Oolagah, again, with the Pirates winning 14-4. The final game on Sunday, the Pirates played Verdigris and lost the final game of Regionals 12-1. Still the Pirates can be called champions with a great record of 26-6. and ending a super final year for the seniors. courtesy photo

Lady Pirates - District Champions

The Lady Pirates beat Pryor two out of three times- 16-2 and 13-6 for the District Championship. McKenna Ingram led the Lady Pirates in the series with Pryor, going 7 for 11 with 7 RBI. Shortstop Ava Yocham was next, going 6 for 10 and scored 9 times. Albaney Pritchard and Jazmyn George both went 6 for 11 with 1 homerun and 4 RBI apiece. courtesy photo
