(This eyewitness account of the worst domestic terrorist attacks on U.S. soil was by Ray Murrell.)
On 9/11/2001, Ray parked his work truck at 8:44 a.m. opposite World Trade Center Tower 2, on Liberty Street. Two minutes later is history!
Suddenly, his vehicle rumbled with the thunderous blast, pelted by chunks of metal. These came crashing through the truck’s roof as Ray was inside.
His brother sensed a deep awareness that Ray was there!
“But these, like unreasoning animals, born as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, reviling where they have no knowledge, will in the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed” (2 Peter 2:12).
The devil hates, baits, and kills. He doesn’t want you to enter the Lord’s heavenly peace! Paul wrote that we are Ray called him early the next day, describing the horror. He said, “What I saw no one should see!” This was a violent act of hatred! The hijackers had been brainwashed into hating America.
An unforgiving heart destroys lives! Paul writes in the Bible, “Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity” (Ephesians 4:2627). Unresolved anger turns into hate. That’s when the devil has an opportunity.
When your anger goes past sunset, speak to the person: not ignorant of Satan’s schemes (2 Corinthians 2:11). Are you aware of the devil’s traps? He wants to steal your chance for eternity with Jesus! Don’t hate! Learn how to avoid the devil’s traps - read God’s Word!
In the Bible book of Job, Satan confronts God (Job 1 and 2). “Job will turn against You if I’m allowed to hurt him!” “Is there a problem between us that we need to talk about? My relationship with you is more important to me than this problem.”
Humble yourself ! Take the first step to reconcile! Jesus commands it! (Matthew 5:23-26 and chapter 18) Please think seriously about Jesus’ teaching here.
The terrorists didn’t seek Jesus! They could have come to their senses and escaped eternal condemnation, and thousands of innocent people, including many children, would not have suffered!
Read about it in your own Bible.
The devil also spoke to Jesus, twisting God’s words and lying (Matthew 4:1-11). Satan did the same to Adam and Eve. That is how he works (see John 8:44-47). Satan destroys those who hate, but the Lord Jesus will rescue you! Study God’s
