“For I am the LORD your God …Do not fear, I will help you” (Isaiah41:13).
“And the LORD is the One who is going ahead of you; He will be with you…Do not fear” (Deuteronomy 31:8).
One of two F-15 troops shot down over Iran, April 2026, told the 60 Minutes reporter, “My survival is a modern miracle!” God was his top rescuer in “impossible odds.” When was the last time you thanked God? He has protected you! The Lord provides what you need for survival! In fact, without Him, you wouldn't have a single day of life! (Colossians 1:13-20; John 1:1-4).
Jesus promises to always be with you: “Make sure that your character is free from the love of money…for He Himself has said, I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER ABANDON YOU” (Hebrews 13:5).
Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:1820).
This is His command! It isn’t a suggestion. Nor is any of it a ritual or a performance. It is given to every person who would follow Jesus!
Jesus’ command is also in Mark’s gospel. “Later He appeared to the eleven disciples… and He reprimanded them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen from the dead. And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. The one who has believed and has been baptized will be saved; but the one who has not believed will be condemned.’ And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed…And after that, Jesus Himself also sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation” (Mark 16:14-16, 20).
A command from Jesus to obey Him removes all possibility of saving yourself. Jesus still saves!
You may hurt emotionally or physically, but the Lord works to rescue and comfort you. “The LORD’S acts of mercy indeed do not end, for His compassions do not fail” (Lamentations 3:22).
God works in your life even if you don’t follow Him (Matthew 5:45). You are valuable in God’s eyes, and Jesus’ disciples have purpose in each new day!
If you are not a disciple of Jesus, why?
