While a deep clean can be reserved for fall, home organizing expert Abby Lawson of the popular Abby Organizes blog says there are quick ways to tidy up the home now.

Elder abuse is the intentional mistreatment or harming of an older person. An older person is defined by the Social Security Act as someone over age 60. This abuse takes many forms – including physical, emotional, and sexual harm, neglect, and financial exploitation. More than 1 in 10 older adults experience some form of abuse each year. That number is likely much higher because elder abuse is often underreported– especially in underserved communities.

The Bristow Pirates football team will begin its season on Friday, Aug. 18 with a scrimmage against Perkins beginning at 7 p.m. The first home scrimmage will take place on Thurrsday, Aug. 24 against Metro Christian.

Students in kindergarten through college are invited to bring their backpacks and bookbags to Bristow Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023, at 11 a.m. for the Blessing of the Backpacks and Bookbags, during worship. Comments: Crappie activity is staying strong from mid lake to the dam with lots of folks catching crappie in the shade under docks early and late! Catfish are feeding in all areas and are fairly easy to catch around docks as well as drifting near flats and ledges.
