OHCE meets to plan for upcoming year

Using the health guidelines of the CDC, the Bristow OHCE met to plan and prepare for the upcoming year, including leader lessons, Creek County OHCE and Extension activities, and extra curricular tentative activities. Officers for this year are: Dr. Joyce Wade Kinslow, President, Ms. Carolyn Kuykendall, Vice President, Ms. Janet Byrd, Secretary, and Ray Kinslow, Treasurer. Janet Byrd, Secretary for Bristow OHCE and Creek County OHCE, had received the Friendship Plate last. Janet passed on the Friendship Plate to Norma Carmen, Citizenship Chair. The club voted to have Norma keep the Friendship Plate until we have a new member to honor.

Other business, included reporting on the winter county council meeting. Bristow member received awards, and donated ten Christmas bags to the Teen Salvation Army project (these were added to the County’s OHCE). Bristow contributed to other county projects, ie., Creek County Youth Services and Caring Community Friends.

The Leader Training Lesson, “Meeting in a Nutshell,” was presented by Joyce and Ray Kinslow. In addition to reviewing parliamentary procedure and Robert Rules of Order, guidelines for conducting meetings were described. Theodore Roosevelt’s quote about the importance to develop leadership in others was given to members. To learn more about the Bristow OHCE plans and activities, contact a member.
