IRS delays start of sending out refunds

If you are hoping for a tax refund this year, you may have to wait a little longer than normal. The IRS is reporting that the deadline to file is still April 15. You can send in your return starting Friday, Jan. 15, but the IRS will not start accepting and processing them until February 12. That’s a few weeks later than in previous years. This change is being made in order for the IRS to have time to make sure changes to the tax code resulting from the stimulus package are properly included.
