Bristow Public Schools will host Project Guardian, a free online safety event for parents and adults, on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 5:30 p.m. at the Freeland Center for Performing Arts.
The event will feature a computer forensics expert discussing concerns that can affect children and teenagers online. Topics listed in the district’s announcement include cyberbullying, dangerous apps, sextortion, sexting, the dark web, fentanyl, and human trafficking.
For parents, keeping up with the digital world can mean more than knowing which apps their children use. Project Guardian offers an opportunity to learn about online safety concerns and become better informed about the risks young people may encounter while using the internet.
Bristow Public Schools are inviting parents and guardians to attend. With children and teen’s social lives often extending beyond the classroom and onto phones, games, and social media, the evening provides a chance for adults to learn more about issues that can be difficult to recognize or discuss.
