“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength…” Philippians 4:13

Krista Burden, Bristow Public Schools Assistant Superintendent, is a rock for our school system. Krista is the hardest working, most determined individual. She pours her heart into making our school system better. We are very blessed to have her knowledge, dedication, and enthusiasm in our community. In January 2020, Brian Burden, Krista’s husband and Bristow Middle School Principal, passed away suddenly. Brian was an outstanding administrator, mentor, and friend. Bristow Public Schools will forever be better because we had Brian as a leader. At the time of Brian’s passing, our community surrounded Krista and her children, Kelsey and Blake with love and support. Now, it is time for us to surround Krista again. She has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, the cancerous form, and Amyloidosis. She has been and will be traveling to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for further diagnosis, evaluation, chemo treatments, etc. Fortunately, her insurance has approved coverage for this outstanding team of doctors, however, she will be responsible for all flights, lodging, and meals associated with the travel for these treatments.

Fellow Bristownians and friends of the Burden family, please join us in surrounding the Burden family generously at this time of need. We will be hosting a benefit BBQ Drive-Thru Dinner on Saturday, November 14th from 10am-2pm in the Bristow High School parking lot. 3 Rings BBQ will be cooking up this delicious food. We invite you to place orders through Freddie Hall on Facebook or by cell at 918-671-4255. We will also have donation baskets set up if you feel led to donate additional. In addition, if you cannot make it to the dinner, feel free to mail donations payable to Krista Burden, 420 N Main St, Bristow, OK 74010. We know that all the money in the world will not heal Krista or bring Brian back to earth. However, we can use this to tangibly show Krista how much we love her and support her. And above all, please pray for this sweet family. Pray for healing, strength, and comfort.
