Oklahoma's health commissioner said the recent holiday season likely played a major role in the record number of COVID-19 cases reported on Sunday. The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 6,487 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, and 23 additional deaths. The number of daily cases was 24% higher than the previous record, set two days prior.

The vaccine is being rolled out. As of Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, a total of 221,100 prime doses have been allocated and 42,900 boost doses have been allocated. Currently 94,701 doses have been given and 4,672 have completed the series of doses. You can register on-line at vaccinate.oklahoma.org. Currently the U.S. has reported a total of 22,613,784 confirmed cases since last March and 376,060 deaths.
