COVID continues to decline as people are getting vaccinated. As of press day, there have been 918,965 doses given, 504,369 completed the series, totaling 1,682,785 doses. The last updated numbers for Oklahoma cases are at 437,853 with 7,846 deaths. Creek County has 6,725 with 122 deaths and Bristow is sitting at 921 cases with 26 deaths.

There are 148 testing sites within 50 miles of Bristow for those who might have COVID. But for those who would like to get vaccinated, they are now in Phase 4 which means any Oklahoman that is 16 years or older can be vaccinated. The top two vaccines with the highest effective rate is Moderna and Pfizer. AstraZeneca has not yet been approved from the FDA and does not have a determined date for release at this time. Even though the vaccines are effective for the person, it doesn’t protect the people around that person. So remember to wear your mask, use social distancing, and check on your family and friends. We are not out of the woods yet with this COVID pandemic and, at this point, there isn’t an ending date. If people continue to do their part, we can get through this together. One good thing we can take from this pandemic, we have seen that our community can come together in a crisis.
