Senior Citizens are constantly being criticized for every deficiency of the modern world. But upon reflection, we would like to point out that it was not the senior citizens who took: • The melody out of music • The pride out of appearance • The romance out of love • The commitment out of marriage • The togetherness out of the family • The learning out of education • The service out of patriotism • The religion out of school • The Golden Rule from rulers • The nativity scene out of cities • The civility out of behavior • The refinement out of language • The dedication out of employment • The prudence out of spending, or • The ambition out of achievement.

Since May 1, I have been engaging in weekly meetings with Chief of Police Raney and Assistant Chief Webster to address matters pertaining to public safety within our City. During our most recent discussion, we focused on the topic of safety within our schools. It is worth noting that Bristow Public Schools has a dedicated School Resource Officer who is present on a daily basis when school is in session. These officers actively patrol the premises, ensure the functionality of security systems, and engage with both students and faculty. The presence of law enforcement personnel within our schools, as well as in our neighborhoods and at various events, plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of trust among our youth. In light of recent incidents elsewhere, plans are currently being revised to enhance police presence at athletic events. It is important to emphasize that the Police Department places utmost importance on public safety, with school safety being of paramount concern. Consequently, school safety procedures are consistently reassessed and updated. Should you have any inquiries or concerns in this regard, we encourage you to contact either the school superintendent or the police department.

One of my favorite songs is The Anchor Holds because it the story of my life: I have journeyed through the long, dark night; Out on the open sea by faith alone sight unknown; and yet His eyes were watching me; though the ship is battered, though the sails are torn; The anchor holds in spite of the storm.

Scissortail Hospice Chaplain Bristow, Oklahoma Grief usually refers to the personal inner feelings of an individual, but in some cultures when someone dies, family members and close friends express their grief outwardly by weeping and wailing. The onset of grief is from the moment a person becomes aware of the death of a loved one.

ONHL Hospice Chaplain Drumright, Oklahoma A very interesting article by Gabriella Tal called 'The Nature of Hurt' tells about a time when she experienced a serious car accident that left her paralyzed. Her healing journey led her to the work of Peter Levine, author of Walking the Tiger who helped her realize the power of the moment before the car hit her.

Mayor Kris Wyatt Greetings! As you read this, it marks the 100th day since I took office. I wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the remarkable events that have occurred during this time. Please note that I am not claiming credit for any of these accomplishments. In no particular order: The City of Bristow website is nearing completion of its revamp. My goal is for it to become a reliable source of up-to-date information for both local residents and those observing from afar.

of that.) There are two sites where residents can take limbs and brush: the high school “bonfire pile” and the DEQ burn pile at the entrance to the golf course. Our public works department deserves a “THANK YOU” for the work that they’ve put into cleaning up after Mother Nature.

Rapid Ideas for Grief Recovery

Recovering from grief has no set order or method. It all depends on the individual person, what type of grief (how their loved one died), their social and cultural background, and their emotional stability at the time of the death of their loved one.
