. . . from the Pastor’s Desk

“The God on the Mountain is still God in the Valley” are wonderful lyrics in a song most of us have heard. When things are going according to (our) plan . . . we get all giddy and ecstatic. We find ourselves jumping from peak-to-peak.

However, the true test or reality is how we live our life . . . how we trust . . . how strong our faith is when we come down from peak hopping and return to the PANDEMIC ridden valley floor.

When Jesus was in the wilderness being tempted for 40 days— He must have felt at times as though everything was UPHILL IN EVERY DIRECTION. Sometimes, when you’re down in the valley, it feels like everything is uphill.

There is a stark difference between the exhilaration of the mountain top experience, and the desperation of the living on the valley floor of everyday life in the infectious pits with their sicknesses, ailments, and viruses.

Do you know the One the psalmist writes about in Psalm 46:1-20? He is the One who says: 1. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore, we will not fear . . .” He tells us, don’t be afraid. I will be your help when everything seems to be going wrong. I’ll be there when you must be isolated or quarantined . . . trying to do it all on your own. There is a better way . . . you see, “I AM is still in control.”

Always in His Service,
