On Friday May 5th and Saturday May 6th, the track athletes competed in Ardmore at the State Track Meet. Gage Spencer, Kaden Hooks, Darian Dansby, and Phoenix DeShazo competed in the Men's 4x100 Meter Relay. Gavin Honeycutt competed in the Pole Vault and Kaden Hooks also competed in the High Jump. As a sophomore, Gage Spencer qualified and placed second in the Men's 200 Meter Dash. His Preliminary time of 21.70 is just five one hundredths of a second off of our school record held by Michael Thompson at 21.65. Gage also placed fifth in the 100 Meter Dash.

Our girls finished the state meet as the 4a State Runnerups. They scored a combined total of 83 team points finishing second behind Cache with a total 94.5. Our girls 4x100 Meter Relay consisting of Kinzie Williams, Ava Yocham, Carlie Capps, and Makynzi Spencer-Friday finished second with a time of 49.47 and broke the Bristow School record. It was a school record that had stood for more than 30 years. The girls' 4x200 Meter Relay consisting of Carlie Capps, Kinzie Williams, Jaliyah Colbert, and Makynzi Spencer-Friday finished second in that relay as well with a time of 1:45.16 and broke their own school record in that event for the second time this season. Our girls 4x400 Meter Relay team composed of Kinzie Williams, Rori Kelly, Shalyn Edmondson, and Ava Yocham finished 4th with a time of 4:09.38. The 4x800 meter relay also competed and consisted of Rori Kelly, Shalyn Edmondson, Kadence Varner, and Alex Wilhite. They ran a season best 10:26.19. In the individual events, Makynzi Spencer-Friday placed sixth in the 100 meter dash. Ava Yocham finished third in the 100 meter hurdles and fourth in the 300 meter hurdles. Kinzie Williams finished second in the 300 meter hurdles and is the school record holder in that event. Shalyn Edmondson finished fourth in the High Jump and 5th in the Long Jump. Jaci Shelton placed second in the Discus with a new school record throw of 132 feet and 4 inches. Blair Chaney placed third in the Discus with a throw of 120 feet and 10 inches. Our girls' runner-up finish is the highest in Bristow School History for our ladies' track team. They were also three time Regional Champions. We are very proud of the character that both the boys' and girls' teams demonstrated during a season that had many hardships. They are amazing young people and athletes!
