The Bristow Purple Pirates beat the Grove Ridgerunners 31-13 on Friday. The Ridgerunners fumbled the ball in the first quarter, which was recovered by the Pirates. Then, Cayden McCall scored the first touchdown of the game. The two-point conversion was good. At the end of the first quarter, Grove fumbled the ball again, and Bristow recovered. In the second quarter, Stephon Tolon scored his first touchdown of the game. The half ended with the Pirates up 14-0.

During the third quarter, Grove scored their first touchdown of the game. Then, Tolon scored another rushing touchdown. In the fourth quarter, Tolon scored another rushing touchdown, extending the Pirates’ lead. Then, the Ridgerunners fumbled the ball for the third time, and Bristow recovered for the third time. Afterward, Tolon scored his fourth rushing touchdown of the game. Grove made a last-ditch effort with a passing touchdown, but the game was decisively won by Bristow.

The leaders of the game were Tolon with 23 carries for 147 yards and four touchdowns and McCall with six carries for 49 yards and a touchdown. The Pirates ended the game with 371 total yards, all of them rushing. The Pirates’ next game is Thursday, Oct.15 at home against Cleveland.
