The Bristow Purple Pirates beat Cleveland 37-19 on Thursday. The first score of the game came from Pirates’ quarterback Stephon Tolon. Then, Cleveland retaliated by scoring a touchdown of their own. In the second quarter, Stephon Tolon scored his second rushing touchdown of the game. The two-point conversion was good. Then, Tolon intercepted Cleveland and scored a rushing touchdown on the next drive. The two-point conversion was good. Afterward, Sutton Titsworth intercepted Cleveland, but Cleveland intercepted Tolon back. The half ended with the Pirates up 22-7.
During the third quarter, Bristow fumbled the ball, and it was recovered by Cleveland. Later, Bristow scored another rushing touchdown and con verted a two-point attempt. In the fourth quarter, Bristow scored another rushing touchdown, extending their lead 37- 7. Cleveland then tried to rally a comeback with a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown but to convert two two-point attempts and subsequently lost.
The Pirates ended the game with 337 total yards, 42 passing and 295 rushing. The Pirates’ next game is Friday, Oct. 23 at Skiatook.
