Bristow Pirates advance to quarter finals in play-off

The Bristow Purple Pirates won an exciting game against Broken Bow 35-34 on Friday. The game got off to a slow start with the only score in the first quarter coming from a Pirate field goal. In the second quarter, Broken Bow scored the first touchdown of the game. Then, the Pirates kicked another field goal. To end the first half, Broken Bow passed for a touchdown to extend their lead 14-6.

During the third quarter, Cord Dobrinski scored the first touchdown for Bristow. Bristow then rushed for a two-point conversion. On Broken Bow’s next drive, the Pirates intercepted the ball and returned it for a touchdown. Then, Bristow intercepted Broken Bow again. However, Broken Bow passed for another touchdown but missed their PAT. In the fourth quarter, Stephon Tolon scored a rushing touchdown. Then, Broken Bow passed for a touchdown but failed their two-point attempt. On the Pirates’ next drive, they were intercepted by Broken Bow, who scored a touchdown on the ensuing drive. They also rushed for a two-point conversion. Then, Bristow rushed for a touchdown to take the lead with less than a minute left in the game. Broken Bow attempted a miracle to win the game, but fumbled the ball, which was recovered by Bristow.

With this victory, Bristow advances to the quarter-finals of the playoffs. The Pirates’ next game is Friday, Nov. 27, at Blanchard. The game will start at 7 p.m., and tickets are seven dollars.
