Rainee Goodwin, age 13, has entered into the world of gymnastics, competing in various tournaments and loving every minute of it. Godwin attends Bristow Middle School and is the daughter of Zane and Mandy Goodwin, of Bristow. She trains four days a week at Aim High Academy in Tulsa with coaches Sheridan Ramsey, Jennifer Bjornberg and Krystal Nichols by her side.
In April, at state competition Godwin was the Level 7All Around State Champion, 37.425, on the Vault taking the State Championship title, also taking State Championship on the bars, a silver medalist on beam and a bronze medalist on the floor exercise. She also won a $250 scholarship. Goodwin was also the highest overall score out of all ages and levels in her session.
Nationals were held in Daytona Beach, Florida the last week of June. Godwin finished the 2024 All Around National Champion, level 7. She was named an All American Gymnast (highest all around score for all ages at level 7), and a Junior Olympics qualifier.
Goodwin brought home a silver medal on both the bars and the balance beam.
Goodwin just returned from Greensboro, NC, competing in the AAU Junior Olympics which was held Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28, where she finished the day as the Level 7 - 2024 Junior Olympic All Around Champion as well as the balance beam champion. Godwin also won the bronze medal on floor exercise and placed fourth on the bars and vault. Only the top competitors in each event moved on to Sundays event finals. Goodwin qualified in four events for the final competition on Sunday. She finished with two bronze medals at event finals. placing third on the balance beam and uneven bars.
Goodwin is officially a State, National and Jr. Olympics champion, all at the age of 13. Are the Olympics in her future?
