Beginning on Friday with high winds out of the north making for a very cold day, it was only the beginning of what Bristow saw. An artic blast over the weekend, with wind chill factors dipping to 20, brough single digit temperatures to the area. Warming stations were opened up for those who needed them. Also receiving approximately one and a half to two inches of snow, in some areas. Even though the snow was a blanket of whiteness, the single digit temperatures made for dangerous days, slippery roads, frozen pipes and treacherous conditions. The Turner Turnpike was closed for sometime with accidents near Kellyville and on the turnpike near Stroud. Motorists were advised to use caution, drive for conditions and slow down until all remaining slick spots and snow packs are cleared. Thursday we are supposed to get a little relief from the cold weather with a high of 41 degrees.
