Willis Clayton Smith Sr.

Willis Clayton Smith Sr. was born Sept. 23, 1933, to Seamon and Irene Smith in Bristow. He departed this life April 25, 2022, at the age of 88.

On July 5, 1952, Clayton Smith and Coleta Marcum were united in marriage. From this union was born one son, Willis Clayton Smith Jr. They enjoyed over 55 years together before her passing on September 7, 2007.

Clayton retired from Kerr Glass Company after a long career as a production manager. He enjoyed fishing and gardening as well as spending time with his family. He also enjoyed assisting his son in feeding the cows. Clayton was a member of the Advent Christian Church and was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Creek Lodge #226.

He is survived by his son, Willis C. Smith Jr. and wife, Donna; three siblings, Melton Smith, Nadine Plum and husband Charles, and Jackie Smith and wife Kathleen; three grandchildren, Tina Hughes and husband Brandon, Trisha Reynolds and husband Craig, and Willis Smith III and wife Shelby; 15 great grandchildren, Maverick, Taylor, Cannon, Heaven, Haley, Miah, Tyler, Clayton, Chase, Harley, Harper, Zoey, Sunee, Hudson, and Stevie; one great greatgrandson, Kylo Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Coleta, eight siblings, Joyce, Janice, Louise, Nita, Seamon, Charley, Glen, and Gerald; grandson, Stanley Sweeney, granddaughter, Sandra Smith and great grandson, Gunner Smith.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2022, at Advent Christian Church in Bristow with Pastor Johnny Plum officiating. Interment followed at Bristow City Cemetery.
