Wanda Lea Veit, 1930 - 2021

Wanda Lea Veit was born Oct. 12, 1930, to Cecil Parsons Nichols and Rhoda Elizabeth Nichols in Morrison. She departed this life Jan. 13, 2021, at the age of 90.

Wanda graduated from Morrison High School in 1948. On July 25, 1948 Wanda Nichols and Marvin Veit were united in marriage. From this union were born two sons, Clinton and Ron. They enjoyed 62 years together before his passing May 13, 2010.

She retired from Community Bank where she had worked for many years. Wanda had been a member of the Bristow First Baptist Church since 1963. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She loved her sons and her grandchildren very much.

She is survived by two sons, Clinton Veit and wife Barbette and Ron Veit; one sister, Clara Faye Monteith; five grandchildren, Mariah Judd and husband Josh, Blake Veit and wife Tammy, Nicole Sigmon and husband Nathan, Rachael Ledbetter and husband Bobby, Danielle Duke and husband Shane; thirteen great grandchildren, Hunter, Bailey, Christian, Westin, Luke, Gabriella, Dominic, Case, Aubrey, Stafford, Adalyn, Kennedy and McKenzie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Geneva Christie; one brother, Richard Nichols.

Visitation was scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m.m Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at the Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
