Ted G. Howard, former Fairfax, Oklahoma resident and businessman, passed peacefully Friday morning, May 20, 2022 with his daughter by his side in the Stillwater Creek Nursing Home where he had resided the last few years. He was 92 years young.

Born in Oilton, on Jan. 6, 1930 to parents Charles and Burl Marie (Hagel) Howard, Ted spent his early years growing up and attending school in Depew.

After graduating from high school, he went into the Army in 1950. He proudly served his country during the Korean war and was honorably discharged in December 1953.

Ted worked as a Roustabout in the Oklahoma oilfields and later was self-employed in the Restaurant and Pest Control businesses. He moved to the Fairfax area in 1970 and remained until ill health slowed him down. He then found a new “home” at Stillwater Creek.

Among his various interests were fishing, horse training, listening to country music, and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. He also enjoyed time spent with his friends at the Hart-Cowan American Legion Post 333 in Ralston where he was a longtime member.

Along with two of his three daughters, Ginger McCabe of Surprise, Ariz. and Cynthia Brown of Pawnee, Ted is survived by a sister Eva Clement of Bakersfield, Calif. and three brothers Richard Howard, Phillip Howard, and Tommy Howard all of California. Further survived by eight grandchildren: Dustin Crowe, Danielle Franks, both of Surprise, Arizonia; Shane Barnhart, Pawnee; Jeremy Barnhart, Tryon; Johnie Looney, of Tulsa; Tracy Lance, of Ponca City; Dusty Rennie, of Colorado; Dillon Rennie, of Kaw City; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great granddaughter; also countless cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Debra Rennie; parents Charles and Burl Howard; brother Charles ( Junior) Howard; grandparents Jay and Birtie Howard and other beloved relatives.

Friends and family are invited to a time of visitation at the Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 24.
