Graveside funeral rites for former Bristow resident, Sheila Rogers, were held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 9, in the Parkland Cemetery near Agra, Oklahoma. Pastor Jeff Kelly of the Agra First Baptist Church officiated. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Michael’s Funeral Home of Bristow. Sheila was born in Cushing, on Feb. 25, 1955, to the late Lee Aaron Vail and Frankie Lee (Hand) Vail. She passed from this life in Sherman, Texas on July 4, 2026 at the age of 71 years, four months, and nine days. Sheila was raised and educated in Kansas until her family moved to Bristow while she was still in high school. She finished her education attending the Bristow High School and had remained in Bristow for many years. Due to health issues, she moved to Sherman, Texas in 2007. Sheila was a stay-at-home mom and raised four children: Chris, David, Lisa and Laura. She enjoyed reading, especially sci-fi books and novels, and was a huge Star Trek fan. She also enjoyed baking and cooking for her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sonny Vail in 1960; her Mother: Frankie Evans in 2022 and her stepfather Cecil Evans in 2022.
She leaves behind her four children: Chris Vail, of Kansas; David Biggs, of Catoosa; Lisa Ryder, of Texas and Laura Rogers, of Texas; three grandchildren: Bailey, Dax and Bentley; also several other family members and friends.
