Shannon Duane Hilburn was born Jan. 28, 1979, to Steven and Teresa Hilburn in Sapulpa. He departed this life May 11, 2023 at the age of 44 years.

Shannon, a member of Bristow’s 1997 graduating class, furthered his education attending Northeastern State University in Tahlequah earning his Bachelor of Science in mathematics.

Shannon Hilburn and Allison Bradley were united in marriage June 29, 2002 at First Baptist Church, in Bristow; to this union was born two children Kinley and Noah. Shannon was someone who gave one hundred percent. God and Family were first and foremost. Shannon served God faithfully as a member and deacon at First Baptist Church. He strived daily to show not only God’s love but the love he had for his family. Shannon’s nearly 22 years of teaching and coaching brought him many accolades. He was proud to be a part of Bristow Public Schools and the Pirate Brand giving back to a community and place that had given him so much. He shared in the many successes of his students in the classroom and athletes, whether it be on the track, field or court. He lent his many talents to not only track and field but baseball, basketball, golf and cross country as well. None brought him more joy than the successes of his children.

Shannon is survived by his wife, Allison. of the Bristow home; two children, Kinley Cordrae Hilburn and Noah Stone Hilburn; mom, Teresa Hilburn; one brother, Brian Hilburn and wife Valerie, of Sapulpa; one sister, Stephanie Heiliger and husband Mark, of Jenks; grandmother Bobbie Hilburn, of Bristow; six nieces and nephews, father-in-law, Randall Bradley and sister in law, Kristen Hall and husband James.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Steven; grandpa, Roy Hilburn; brother-in-law, Aaron Stern and mother-in-law Becky Bradley.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Bristow. Interment followed at Bristow City Cemetery.
