Roy Edgar Perry was born March 19, 1939, to Sam Ellsworth and Valrie Leon Perry in Bristow. He departed this life March 7, 2022, at the age of 82.

He graduated from Bristow High School in 1957 and married his high school sweetheart Bonnie Joe King June 29, of the same year. From this union were born two children, Connie Gayle, and Roy Jr. They enjoyed over 63 years together before her passing Jan. 3, 2021.

He served his country in the United States Army National Guard in the 45th infantry. He worked for several years in the grocery business, managing Wells Grocery Store, and later worked for Cimmaron Public Transit service.

Roy and Bonnie were inseparable, they enjoyed traveling together, going to church together and spending time with the grandchildren together. He was a faithful member of the Bristow First Free Will Baptist Church where he served as church treasure and Sunday school superintendent. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by one son, Roy Perry Jr., and wife Mary; two sisters, Mary Lue Caulkins and husband Gale, Donna Alsup and husband Buck; four grandchildren, Theron Perry and wife Hannah, Miranda Bostick, Eli Perry, and Connie Jo Perry with one great grandchild on the way.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and daughter, Connie Gayle Perry, brother, Sammy Lee Perry.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, March 14, 2022, at the Bristow First Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Bristow City Cemetery.
