Robert Denman Hooper was born June 27, 1956, to Robert S Hooper and Nancy J Fite in Seattle, Washington. He departed this life Sept. 3, 2021, at the age of 65 years.

Denman grew up in Bellevue, Washington. He attended elementary school in Seattle and junior high school in Bellevue. Denman moved to Bristow in 1972 and graduated from Bristow High in 1975. As someone who loved to read, Denman found himself a lifelong student as he thrived to gain knowledge. After graduating, he returned to Washington where he attended Central Washington University. True to learning never stops; Denman earned bachelor’s degrees in the areas of Computer Science and Special Education Psychology. He further studied earning a master’s degree in History. He had recently finished his dissertation for a doctorate in History from Columbia University. Though he had returned to Tulsa, Central Washington University held a special place in his heart. He continued to volunteer his time tutoring students from the University online. Denman believed in paying it forward. He was well known and loved by all who knew him; being a blessing to all.

Denman is survived by his brother, John Hooper and wife Debbie, of Coweta.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept.18, 2021, at Bristow City Cemetery with Reverend Brent White officiating. An online guestbook is at www.hutchinsmaplesfuneralhome.com
