Body

Minta Jean Rigney Savage was born Feb. 22, 1934, in Depew, to her kind and loving parents, Faye and Tom Rigney. She passed into the loving arms of our heavenly Father on Aug. 3, 2021, in Tulsa.

Minta was raised in her hometown of Depew with her younger brothers Phil and Tom. She graduated from Depew High School and then earned both undergraduate and master degrees from the University of Oklahoma, all while raising her young family. Minta’s teaching career spanned 38 years; teaching high school business, English, and computer literacy courses in Oklahoma City, Houston, Depew and Eureka, Nevada. She had high expectations of herself to deliver the best education she could to her students. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing various card games (especially bridge), was an avid reader and enjoyed the challenge of a good crossword or jig saw puzzle.

Those loved ones preceding her in death are her parents, Tom and Faye; brothers, Phil and Tom; an infant son; her son, Hal; her niece, Jeannie; and husbands, Hal Savage and Ray Graveman.

She is survived by her daughter, Becky; her son, Keith (Gini); daughter-in-law, Opal; grandchildren, Sandra (Duke), Douglas, Stephanie (Chad), Lauren (Tyler), Jessica (Ben) and Katherine; great grandchildren, Makenna, Memphis, Nelani, Drew, Violet, Dharma, Marcus, Aiden, Zander, Max and Sam; sisters-in-law, Mary and Patricia; her nieces and nephews, Carl, Eleana (Dony), Wade (Britton) and Scott (Jesse); and a host of great nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Amy, Dana and their staff at the Villages at Southern Hills in Tulsa and Sharon and the other wonderful nurses and caregivers from Good Shepherd Hospice for the amaz ing care and love Minta received. Our family is so truly grateful to God for blessing us with such a wonderful and selfless mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, and aunt. Minta’s preference was not to have a service. Anyone interested in making a donation to their favorite charity in her name are encouraged to do so.
