Marlene Ray Cearley Crowell was born March 12, 1936, to Joseph Dean and Goldie (Edwards) Ray in Depew. She departed this life Oct. 7, 2020, at the age of 84 years, six months and 25 days.

On June 27, 1952, Marlene Ray and Rex Cearley were united in marriage. From this union were born three children, Colbert Dean, Donisha Jean, and Kimberly Marlene. They enjoyed 37 years together before his passing, Dec. 11, 1989. She later found love again and married Don Crowell and remained with him until his passing Feb. 12, 2014.

Marlene was a member of the Bristow Church of God where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a Bristow ambassador and board member of the Bristow Historical Society and member of the order of the Eastern Star.

She had many interests in life including cooking, painting, gardening and collecting arts and crafts. She was an accomplished writer of poetry. Marlene had many talents to share with others but most of all she enjoyed spending time with entertaining friends and family in her house. Her eyes would light up when the opportunity arose to discuss her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Colbert Dean Cearley and wife Rhonda, Donisha Jean Lane, Kimberly Marlene Dowdy and husband Alan; one brother, Joseph Dean Ray Jr. and wife Frances; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Colbert Cearley and wife Effany, Clint Wade Cearley, Nolan Ray Lane and wife Ashley, Kyle Lee Lane and wife Carrie, Lance Neal Lane, John Alan Dowdy and wife Heather, Christina Janell Thomas and husband Tim; twenty great grandchildren, Ellory Cearley, Sybil Ann Cearley, Evangelyne Cearley, Sawyer Cearley, Ally Lane, Gabe Lane, Gracie Lane, Anna Lane, Nate Lane, Tyler Templeton, Gracie Rains, Lexi Lane, Kyle Register, Zachary Dowdy, Brooklyn Bernal, Tanner Thomas, Rachel Moreino, Kaitlyn Moreino, Paige Wood, Travis Thomas; three great great grandchildren, Paizley Wood, Trenton Wood and Uriah Bernal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Rex Cearley and second husband Don Crowell.

The family would also like to say a special thank you to the personal care providers, Phyllis Tilley, Dorene Pepsworth, Paige Wood and Emerald Hospice. The care that each of you provided during this most diffcult time has been appreciated.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020, at the Bristow City Cemetery with Reverend John Tidwell offciating.
