Margaret Frances Patterson, 1924 - 2021

Margaret Frances Patterson was born Sept. 15, 1924, to James and Maudie Mae (Cash) Collins in Kerens, Texas. She departed this life Jan. 13, 2021 at the age of 96 years, three months and 29 days.

Frances married Rex Patterson Oct. 7, 1941, in Seminole. To this union was born four children. They enjoyed 69 years together before his passing in January 2011. Frances and Rex moved their family to the Bristow community in 1959, making Bristow their forever home. She worked until retirement for JC Penny in both Bristow and Tulsa. Frances loved the Lord. She faithfully read her Bible and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Frances always made time for family. Caring for her children and grandchildren was always at the top of her list. As well, she was an avid gardener; she loved spending her spare time in her garden. In her younger years, she loved to square dance.

Frances is survived by one son Gary Patterson and wife Emma of Drumright; two daughters, Dar West of Bakersfield, California and Donna Parrott of Bristow; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rex Patterson; three brothers and two sons, Bill Collins and Dennis Patterson.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m, Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at Hutchins-Maples Matherly Chapel with Reverend Gene Jackson officiating. A private family interment followed at Bristow City Cemetery.
