Marcus Lee Rake

Marcus Lee Rake was born Sept. 29, 1944, to Charles and Margaret Rake in Bristow. He departed this life Sept. 16, 2021, at the age of 76 years.

Known by all as “Doc”, he was a lifelong Bristow resident, graduating from Bristow High School in 1962. Enlisting in the United States Air Force, he served his country honorably and faithfully. Doc worked over 43 as an industrial radiographer supporting his family. He really enjoyed his job and worked a lot of hours. As well, Doc was a huge OU Sooners fan and always made time for anything OU related. He loved his family deeply and fishing was a past time he often shared with them.

Doc is survived by two sons, Mark Rake and wife Racquel , of Bristow and Scott Rake, of New York; one sister Judy Oldham, of Bristow; one brother, Alan Rake of Kellyville and one granddaughter, Hayden Rake. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Charles Rake.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021, at Hutchins-Maples Matherly Funeral Home.
