Jerry Don Pinson was born July 4, 1940, to Luther and Lucille Pinson in Bristow. He departed this life July 10, 2024, at the age of 84.
He graduated from Bristow High School in 1959 and attended the University of Oklahoma for one year before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served his country in both the Air Force and the Navy.
On June 30, 1967, Jerry was united in marriage to Aletta VanHoose. From this union were born two sons, Aaron and Jared. They enjoyed 12 years together before she passed away in 1979. He later married Linda, and from this union was born a daughter, Amanda. He worked as an administrator at Saint Simeon’s Senior Care for numerous years.
Then in later years when he was trying to slow down, he worked as a courier for Spirit-Bank. He later found love again when he married Sue. They enjoyed many years together before her passing.
Jerry enjoyed treasure hunting, especially art and antiques. He was also an avid reader. At one time he owned over 2,000 books. He was a kind soul and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by three children, Aaron Pinson, Jared Pinson and Amanda Peterson; four sisters, Patsy Timm, Barbara Parker and husband Larry, Linda Darnell, and Rhonda Pinson; seven grandchildren, Malak Pinson, Baylor Bedsworth, Blake Bedsworth, Brenna Bedsworth, Camden Peterson, Alleta Pinson, and Cooper Peterson; one great granddaughter, Hazleigh Bedsworth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, Aletta Pinson and Sue Pinson, infant son, Daniel Pinson, one brother, Danny Pinson, one nephew, Brett Pinson and brother-in-law, Larry Timm.
Funeral services were held for 2 p.m., Monday, July 15 , 2024, at Hutchins Maples Matherly Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Bristow City Cemetery.
