Harley Wayne Patterson Jr of Depew, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024 at the age of 82.
Wayne was born on Saturday, Feb. 14, 1942 to Harley Patterson Sr. and Vista Earlen (Lane) Patterson in Grainola, Oklahoma. Wayne served his country as a tank mechanic in the US Army. He worked many years as an elevator mechanic. Wayne enjoyed being active. He loved being outdoors improving his land, taking care of his cattle and tinkering with his tractors.
Wayne was also known to not answer the phone if NASCAR was on. Mostly, Wayne loved his family and just being with them.
Wayne married the love of his life, Betty Bates on Dec. 12, 1963.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Teresa Ann Patterson and his sister Karen Willis.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Betty Patterson; son Robert Jess Patterson; his daughters Karen Elizabeth Parks and husband Scott, Anna Renee Takacs and husband Randy, and Mary Katherine Chisum and husband Joe; grandchildren Jenna White, Chrisotpher White, Savannah Still, Lindsay Whitehouse, Gauge Patterson, Kyle Parks, Abby Parks, Chance Parks, Quentin Takacs, Harlie-Ann Ogden, Jessica Sager, and Kenzie Davis; seven great grandchildren with one on the way; sister Donna Findley; brother Stanley Patterson; and a host of extended family and friends.
Services for Wayne will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec.r 20, 2024, Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, with burial to follow at Stroud Cemetery.
