Glendell Leon Gaskins

Glendell Leon Gaskins was born Feb. 4, 1937, to Samuel and Virgie Gaskins in Gypsy. He departed this life Jan.27, 2021 at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 23 days.

Glendell moved with his family to Slick in 1944 and remained a lifelong Slick area resident. A Slick High School graduate, Glendell went straight to work. He held various jobs but was content with either ranching or roustabout hand in the oilfield. As his family grew so did his heart, he loved his family and children dearly. A hard time was given to all; there was no singling anyone out. He was full of one liners. Hard work and dedication led to eventually owning his own business in the oil and gas production industry. He loved ranching and cattle. His grandchildren were the light of his life passing down legacy with every visit.

He is survived by his wife Laneeta, of the home, three sons, Garry M. Gaskins, of Austin, Texas, Thomas G. Gaskins, of Slick and Timothy Gaskins, of Beggs; two daughters, Cheryl S. Sade, of Piedmont, Oklahoma and Connie L. Brown, of Broken Arrow; one sister, Patsy Wessel and husband Earl, of Oilton and one brother, Jerry and wife Darlene, of Slick; 15 grandchildren, Garry Gaskins II and Kayla Dean, of Tulsa, Andrew Gaskins, of Arling ton, Virginia, Caleb Sade, of Edmond, Danielle Sade, of Piedmont, Brittany Draper, of Austin, Texas, Miranda Galle, of Bixby, Jonathan Gaskins, of Henryetta, Aaron, Samuel and Zachary Gaskins, of Slick, Gauge Gaskins, of Killeen, Texas, Tobey Tatum, Katy Gaskins and Quinton Mann, of Beggs; two great grandchildren, Emma Gaskins, of Tulsa and Raelyn Gaskins, of Killeen, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Alden, Bill, Tom, Jack and Wendell Gaskins and one daughter Sherry Gaskins.

Services are were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at Faith Baptist Church in Slick with Terry Garner officiating. Interment followed at Beggs City Cemetery.
