Frank Luna Cortez Jr. was born Feb. 20, 1947, to Frank and Queenie Cortez in Houston, Texas. He departed this life Feb. 28, 2022 at the age of 75.

Frank was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School. Entering the Marine Corps, Aug. 25, 1965, Frank served his country honorably and faithfully throughout Vietnam. He was a Purple Heart recipient due to service-connected injuries. Frank Luna Cortez Jr. and Sheryl was united in marriage Jan. 20, 1975. Their years together brought them many memories and great happiness. Frank was a jack of all trades. He worked in construction from electrical and plumbing, to driving big rigs and mechanic’s work. He and Sheryl owned and operated a 30-year business maintaining foreclosure properties. He was always tinkering, finding something that needed to be done to occupy his time. He served his Lord and Savior faithfully attending Bristow Christian Center. He continued his service to his community and veterans as a part of the V.F.W. and American Legion.

Frank is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sheryl; three children, Carmen Cortez, of Tulsa, Frankie Cortez and girlfriend Crystal Spencer, of Tulsa and Lawanda Simpson, of Kellyville; two siblings John Cortez, of Texas and Lisa Dammier; eight grandchildren, Jasmine Carbajal, Jonathon Miller, Ryan Miller, Wyatt Lane, Wynn Lane, Addison Cortez, Gracie Carter and Zoey Carter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Cathy Cortez

Funeral services will be held 1 p..m, Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Bristow Christian Center in Bristow, with Pastor Wayne Gemmill officiating.
