Ethel Jean Runt, 1924 - 2021

Ethel Jean Runt was born July 18, 1924 to George Joseph and Ruth Lillian Savage in Larimer, Pennsylvania. She departed this life February 16, 2021 at the age of 96.

After graduating high school, she served her country in the army cadet nurse core during World War II. She was able to serve her country as well receive her education and training to become a Registered Nurse.

On March 21, 1947 Ethel Jean Savage and Theodore Matthew Runt were united in marriage. From this union were born two children, Thea and Ted. They moved their family to Oklahoma in 1960. They enjoyed nearly 54 years together before his passing on May 8, 2001.

She was the Director of Nursing at Bristow Medical Center for 28 years before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, word search puzzles and painting.

She is survived by one daughter, Thea King of Bristow; one son, Ted Runt of Bristow; four grandchildren, Dirk VanVeen, Jenna Johnson, Teddy Runt and Heidi Kahn and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Mary Ann Buckley.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the Bristow City Cemetery with Reverend Gene Jackson officiating.
