Estella Frances Taylor was born Sept. 5, 1929, to Floyd and Grace McFarland in Depew. She was one of 12 children. She departed this life Oct.3, 2023, at the age of 94.

She worked in aircraft electronics for numerous years. She worked at Tinker Air Force Base on the B52 bomber, servicing the instrumentation. She then moved to Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah working on the instrumental panels of the missile silos for the government.

On Feb. 15, 1947, Estella McFarland and James Plez Taylor were united in marriage. Together they raised five children, Tommy, Paula, David, Bobby and Tonya. They enjoyed 45 years together before his passing August 18, 1992.

She was a member of the Depew First Baptist Church. She and her husband enjoyed dancing and traveling together. Estella loved her family very much. She was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by three children, Paula Newton of Oklahoma City, David Taylor of Mustang, and Tonya Dripps and husband Eric of Sparks, Nevada; one brother Wayne McFarland; two sisters, Carolyn Sue Winn, and Dorothy Moore; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two children, Tommy, and Bobby.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at the Bristow City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hutchins Maples Funeral Home.
