Emilene Edna Fisher was born June 24, 1936, to Ellis Joseph and Mable Irene Shamas in Bristow. She departed this life Sept. 23, 2020 at the age of 84 years.

She attended St. Joseph CatholicSchool and later graduated from Bristow High School. She then graduated from Tulsa Stenography School. She retired as a stenographer for the Muskogee Federal Court.

Emilene Edna Shamas and David Clinton Fisher were united in marriage June 26, 1952, in Bentonville, Arkansas. From this union were born four children, David Ellis, James Clinton, Ellis Ray and Davalene Irene. They enjoyed 54 years together before his passing Jan. 11, 2006.

She was one of the last remaining charter members of the V.F.W. Emilene enjoyed playing games, especially Bingo as well as crocheting. As well, she was an avid reader and loved working in her flower gardens. She was also well known as an artist and enjoyed painting. The bright spot in her heart was her family; she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Emilene is survived by four children, David Ellis Fisher and wife Missy of Bristow, James Clinton Fisher and wife Dawn, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ellis Ray Fisher and wife Lisa, Davalene Irene McKinzie and husband Guy, of Tuttle; one brother, Mitchell Shamas and wife SueLynn, of Broken Arrow; one sister in law, Annawyn Shamas, of Littleton, Colorado; grandchildren, Angela Dalke and husband Josh, Brandi Peters and husband Brian, Christopher Root and wife Jessica, Pamela Ingram and husband Amos, Jimmy Fisher and wife Alicia, Joseph Fisher and wife Evan, Wendy Smith and husband Sean, Clinton Root and wife Alicia, Justin Fisher, Amanda Jackson and husband Telly, Emily Kahre and husband Brandon, Lindsey Fisher, Mia Fisher, Mila Fisher, Chasen Root and Fisher McKinzie; 26 great grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Jim Shamas.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 28, 2020, at the Bristow City Cemetery with Reverend John Tidwell offciating.
