Dusty Lance Flood was born March 16, 1955, to Bill and Mildred Flood in Bristow. He departed this life Oct. 29, 2020, at the age of 65 years, seven months and 13 days.

He graduated from Bristow High School in 1973, where he excelled in sports, specifically football and wrestling. He then attended Central State University in Edmond for two years and the University of Tulsa for one year.

On May 1, 1976 Dusty Flood and Rhonda Bruce were united in marriage. From this union were born three children, Nicholas, Brandon and Mallory.

Dusty had worked as a district manager of Castle Metals for several years before his health forced him into retirement. He was a former member of the Bristow Lions Club as well served over 15 years on the Bristow School Board. He also served as president and coach for the Bristow Elementary Football League for seven years.

He had many interests that kept him busy such as playing golf, watching football and reading the bible and guidepost. He also enjoyed volunteering to work the score tables each year at the Bristow High School wrestling tournament. However, his heart was always full when he could spend time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Rhonda Flood; one son, Brandon Flood and wife Brandy; one daughter, Mallory Flood; five grandchildren, Dustyn, Jaxon, Denver, Phoenix and Abby; one nephew, Todd Byrne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Nicholas Flood and one sister, Donna Sue Harjo.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4. 2020, at the Bristow First Free Will Baptist Church. Interment followed at the Bristow City Cemetery.
